Kincaid - Lucinda ? (wife of John)

Source: Crawfordsville Daily Journal Saturday 24 May 1890

Yesterday morning at about ten o’clock a Mrs. Kincaid attempted suicide at New Market by shooting herself twice through the body with a revolver. The heart was aimed at but the balls passed below and entirely through the body. Her wounds were considered certainly fatal yesterday, but today she is reported as having a fair possibility of recovery. She is the widow of John Kincaid of Brown’s Valley, who died three years ago. Since his death she has lived with her children and usually resides in Ladoga. At the time of her attempted suicide, however, she was with her daughter, Mrs. Lynn. Mrs. Kincaid is over 60 years of age and partially insane and to mental condition alone can be ascribed her rash action. She attempted suicide some time since by cutting her throat.
