ATTICA - Edgar Kimbrell, 80, of Attica Route 4, died at Community Hospital in Williamsport at 8:18 p.m. Sunday (May 20, 1973). He had been admitted Sunday afternoon and had been ill a short time. Born at Clay City, Ky., March 1, 1893, he was the son of Grant and Eliza Howard Kimbrell. A life resident of the area, he was married in 1915 at Crawfordsville to Rilla Hayes, who survives. He was a farmer and had attended the Wingate School. He was a member of the Wingate United Methodist Church. He was a former deputy sheriff of Fountain County and was a former member of the Wingate Masonic, Odd Fellows and the Knights of Pytheas lodges. Other survivors include three sons, Dale of Attica, Howard of Veedersburg Route 3 and Byron of Santa Rosa, Calif.; a brother, John of Sarasota, Fla.; six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother. Services will be at the Maus Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Jack Swank officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery near Wingate. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Tuesday. The family has requested that memorials be in the form of contributions to a favorite charity. - jlr
