Source: Crawfordsville Journal Review, 3 February 1971, p. 4. Mrs. Maggie Kidd of Rossville, a former New Richmond resident died at the Home Hospital, Lafayette. She was 87 years old. Mrs. Kidd was born Jan. 2, 1884 in Washington, Ill and married Oscar Kidd in 1907. She is survived by one son Glen, of Rossville, two sisters, Mrs. Clara Richard of Westville, Ill and Mrs. Edna Clingan of Kingman. Surviving are also two foster brothers, Faye Snow of New Ross and Carmen Snow of Lakeland, Florida. Surviving are 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. One daughter, Donna Mae preceded her in death. Mrs. Kidd and husband lived in the Linden and New Richmond community for a number of years. Mr. Kidd died in 1961. Mrs. Kidd moved to Rossville in 1962. She was a member of the New Richmond Methodist Church. Burial was in Linden. --

LINDEN — Maggie M. Kidd, 87, a former resident of the Linden - New Richmond area died in Home Hospital at Lafayette at 11:25 a.m. Thursday. She had been a patient there a week. She was a member of the New Richmond United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star in Linden. Mrs. Kidd was born in Washington, Ill., on Jan. 2, 1884. She was a daughter of George and___ Shelton and married Oscar Kidd on Feb. 7, 1907. He died in May, (June 23) 1961. Surviving are a son, Glenn of Rossville; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Clingan of Kingman and Mrs. Clara Richards of Westville, Ill.; two foster brothers, Fay Snow of New Ross and Carmen Snow of Lakeland, Fla.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daugh- ter, Donna Mae, in 1923. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Helms Funeral Chapel in Linden. Burial will be in Linden Cemetery. Friends may call at the Brown Funeral Home in Rossville from 2 to 10 p.m. Wednesday. Friends may call at the Helms Funeral Chapel from 10 a.m. to the services Thursday. - typed by Chris M.
