Charles D. Keys, prominent Montgomery County farmer, died while reading a newspaper at his country home a mi. e. of here (New Market) at noon Monday. Mr. K. had been working about his farm during the morning and came in to the house for the noon meal. Heart trouble caused his death. The deceased was b. near Yountsville on Nov 10, 1860, the son of James F. and Martha Keys. He was marr. to Jennie Swearingen May 11, 1882. Mr. K. was one of the best known hog raisers in the state, being well and favorably known because of the excellent Poland China swine he raised each year. He was an active member of the New Market Christian church, becoming affiliated with it in 1886. He and his wife had lived on the same farm for 42 years and numbered scores among their friends. Surviving are the widow and two sons, Perry of New Market, and Pual of Klumoth Falls, Oregon. One sister, Mrs. Laura Galey and one brother, Albert Keys of Indianapolis also survive.
