Veedersburg - John Francis Keys, 67, of Rt. 4, Veedersburg, died at his home Sunday morning following a heart attack. A resident of Wingate from 1932 to 1945, he had lived on Rt. 4, Veedersburg, the past 42 years. He was a farmer all his life. He was born in colfax June 18, 1912, a son of William E. and Jesse Ewick Keyes. He was educated at Bowers Station School. He was married June 13, 1936, in Wingate to Jeanette VanHyfte, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Budgie Keyes of Rt 6, Crawfordsville and Carl Keyes of Rt 4, Veedersburg; a brother Ward Keyes of Colfax' two sisters, Lorena (Phelma) Jennings of Crawfordsville and Georgia Pitman of Wingate; and four grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Moss Funeal Home with the Rev. Marvin Jones officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery southeast of Attica. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Contributions may be made to the Fountain County Heart Fund.
