Carl F. Keyes, 60, 1391 N 225 E, Veedersburg died Tuesday Jan 20, 1998 at 12:01 a.m. in Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. He had been hospitalized for one week. Born in Wingate on Jan 11, 1938 he was the son of John Francis and Kathryn Jeanette (VanHyfte) Keyes. He had lived at rural Veedersburg since 1948. He was a graduate of VHS. Mr. Keyes had formerly worked at Hyster in Crawfordsville. For the past 12 years he had worked at Alcoa CSI in Crawfordsville. He farmed in VanBuren Twp for most of his life. Mr. Keyes served in the US Army during the Cuban Crisis. He formerly attended St. Francis Xavier Church in Attica. He liked to bowl and bowled on several bowling leagues. He liked to collect miniature farm tractors. His marriage was to Wanda l. Butler Dec 22, 1956 in Williamsport. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Carl Vaughn Butler of Darlington; a daughter, Alys Rene Keyes of Veedersburg; a half brother, Budgie Keys of Crawfordsville 3 grandhildren: William, Malcolm and Lesley Jo Keyes. He was preceded in dath by his parents and several brothers and sisters. Visitation Friday 5-9 at Maus Funeral Home Attica. Service there on Saturday at 1 p.m. Interment with military rites will be held in Union Christian Cemetery west of Newtown.
