Mrs. Elva J. Kerr, 88, widow of the late Rev. William H. Kerr, former residents of the vicinity of Hillsboro died at her home in Crawfordsville Sunday morning from infirmities of age. Her husband was a former Christian Minister and they began housekeeping on a farm near Ingersoll Chapel, later moving to Waynetown and 54 years ago moved to Crawfordsville where Mrs. Kerr had lived continuously since that time. She was born March 28, 1857 in Howard Township, Parke County, the daughter of Jacob B. nd Emily McDuffy Lough. She and Rev. Kerr were married Sept 1, 1874 and he preceded her in deth Dec 5, 1932. The survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Golda Cunningham of Crawfordsville; a grandson and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Kerr Cunningham of Frankfort, Ky; a newphew, Fern F. of Frankfort, Ky; nieces Mrs. Floyd Welsh of St. Louis; Mrs. Bertha Tinsley of Frankfort and Mrs. Mrs. William H. Newlin and Miss Clara English of Crawfordsville. Funeral service was held from the home at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Paul E. Million pastor of the First Christian Church of Crawfordsville in charge with burial in Masonic Cemetery - kbz
