Krout Dies Instantly - Ferrell, Driver, Succumbs at Hospital - Alabama Negro, Driver of Other Truck Charged with Reckless Driving by Investigators. Funeral services for Otto Krout, who died Tuesday, Oct. 14, M. were held Thursday at the Alamo Christian church at two o'clock in charge of Rev. John Servies. Burial was in the Alamo cemetery.  Villa Stanford, Eula Bayless, Lincoln Lankford and Leslie Elmore were accompanied on the organ by Agnes Moore in the singing of the following songs: "When They Ring the Golden Bells." "Good Morning and Good Night," and "Going Down the Valley." Pallbearers were Lawrence Krout, Rondal Morrison, James Keller, Burel Fruits and Max Keller. Flower bearers were Elsie Krout, Margaret Krout, Mabel Osborne, Cecil McCormick, Wandeline Deck, Opal Morrison, Beatrice Deck, Doris Keller, Daisy Davis, and Gracie Keller.

The Alamo Masonic lodge gave its ritualistic ceremony. Two Montgomery county men were killed early Tuesday morning when the truck in which they were riding collided head-on with another truck seven miles south of here on State road 43. Otto Krout, 66. of Alamo, was | killed instantly. He suffered a broken neck, skull fracture and other injuries. Lonnie V. Ferrell, 56, R. F. D. 7. Crawfordsville, died at Culver hospital here two hours after the accident. He likewise suffered head injuries The driver of the other truck. Luicius Williams, 43. colored, of Bay Minette, La., escaped injury except for minor bruises about the head.  The accident occurred a full-mile south of the intersection of State Road 43 and the New Market road about 6:15 a m.
The crash took place directly in front of the farm home of Ellis Inall of New Market, Charles of Rockville, and Raymond of Jud. son. Preceding him in death were the father, and a brother and sister. Funeral services will be held at the Brown's Valley Baptist church at one o'clock Thursday afternoon, with the Rev. Raymond Skelton in charge. Burial will be made at Liberty cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the Noble Reeves funeral home in New Market as the body will be kept there preceding the services. Krout was born Jan. 18, 1875, at Brownsburg. the son of William and Fannie Powell Krout. He was married June 4, 1905, to Bertha Dunklebarger at Veedersburg. Mrs. Krout died several years ago. He was a member of the Alamo 1 Christian church and of the Masonic lodge at Alamo. The survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Rose Morrison of this city, Mrs. Katie Fruits of Alamo, Mrs. Mae Keller of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Myrtle Keller of New Market; a step-daughter, Mrs. Ks Fairy Krout of Alamo, four stepgrandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death, Funeral services will be held at the Alamo Christian church Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with Rev. John Servies in charge. Burial will be in the Alamo cemetery. Friends may view the remains at the home of Mrs. Morrison, 110 Spring street, until Thursday noon at which time the body will be taken to the church.
At 6:15 &. m. on the morning of Oct. 14, 1941. closed the door of time, by ending the life of a good and upright man. Such a man was Otto Krout. Born Jan. 18, 1875, at Brownsburg, Ind., the son of William and Fannie Powell Krout. Early in life he moved with his parents to Fountain county where he grew to manhood. He was married June 4, 1905, to Bertha Dunklebarger at Veedersburg. Early in life he was happily converted to the service of the Master and became a member of the Alamo Christian church. Continuing his worship there for many years. He followed the teachings of Rev. 11:10, which says, "Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life." He believed that "the Eternal God is his refuge and underneath are the everlasting arms," and that His arms would one day bear him safely home to be forever with his Lord and Master, and with his loved ones gone before.
