New Market - John Milton Kessler, 86, farmer in the Whitesville community all of his life, died at his home west of Whitesville at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. He had been ill since October. Kessler was a member of the Scott TOwnship Farm bureau; a charter membre of the old Horsethief Detective Association and a director of the New Market Telephone Company for many years.  Born Oct 20, 1878 in Scott Township he was the son of Nathan and Elizabeth Harshbarger Kessler. He was married four times. His first wife was Nora Davidson and following her death he was married to Minnie Davidson. After her death he was married to Elizabeth Tribby. His four marriage was to Hazel Gardner who survives. He ws graduated from Ladoga HS and later attended Crawfordsville Business College. Survivors besides the wife include three sons, Clayton and Clyde both of Rt 2 Crawfordsville and Chester of Camp Hill, Pa; a daughter, Mrs. ELizabeth Rains of Ladoga; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Barbara Lidester of New Market; a brother, Harry of California; a sister, Mrs. Salome Hester of Ladoga; 10 grandchildren a step grandson; 15 great grandchildren and a number of cousins nieces and npehews. Funeral services will be at the Reeves Funeral Home in New Market at 2 p.m. Friday with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery in Crawfordsville. Friends may call at the funeral home after 9 a.m. Thursday - kbz
