Kenyon - Wiley

On Wednesday at the home of T. B. Nicholson, on east Jefferson street, occurred the death of Wiley Kenyon. Mr. Kenyon had been ill for several weeks and for the past few days his condition had been quite critical. The funeral will be private and will take place this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock the home of T.B. Nicholson. Mr. Kenyon was born in Wayne county, Indiana, seventy-seven years ago the 21st of last July, and when four years of age came to this county with his parents, Mr. and Mrs James B. Kenyon. In 1862 he was married to Miss Mary E. O'Neal, of Yountsville, and to them were born the following children who still live: Mrs. Henry Patterson, of Muncie, Miss Nellie Kenyon, Mrs. T. B. Nicholson, Will Kenyon, and Miss Mae Kenyon. Mrs. Kenyon died several years ago. Mr. Kenyon made two trips to Oregon in the days when the way was long and overland by wagon and had many exciting experiences on the plains. He was a man of many excellent parts and was highly esteemed in the Community. - transcribed by Kim H (thanks girl)
