New Ross, May 17—Yesterday evening about three o’clock, Willie Kennedy, a small boy of twelve years who lives with his grandfather, two miles east of here, was playing in a wood close by where James Dayton and another young man were cutting wood. He soon got tired of the ground and resolved to climb a tree, which he did. He scaled a large hickory and when forty feet u in its branches, he lost his footing and fell to the ground below. He struck upon the side of his head and shoulder mashing his head fearfully and badly bruising his body. A doctor was summoned and an examination proved his skull to be fearfully fractured. He is unconscious and no hopes are entertained of his recovery. He was taken home by James Dayton.
