Mrs. Mary Hepsia Kennedy, 87, wife of VY Kennedy died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry Chadwick, north of Crawfordsville, Friday night (Death Record says 8 a.m). Mrs. Kennedy, whose home was two miles east of Wingate had been in failing health since she fractured a hip in a fall on June 26.
She was born March 22, 1858 in southern Indiana. Her marriage to VY Kennedy took place in 1880. Mrs. Kennedy was a member of Center Church north of Elmdale. The survivors include the husband; the sons, Van
Kennedy, of Waynetown and James and Gould Kennedy, both of Wingate; two daughters, Mrs. Harry Chadwick at whose home she died and Mrs. Iva Hightower of Hillsboro; 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral service were held at the Center Church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. - kbz
