Kendricks - Amos Joe

Amos Joe Kenricks, 74, of 1009 Tuttle Ave., died at 5:05 a.m. Monday at Culver Hospital. His death was attributed to a heart attack. Mr. Kendricks, a retired street department employee, was employed by the city for 23 years. Prior to that he was employed at the former Umphrey Furniture Factory here. Born March 8, 1898, at Somerset, Ky., Mr. Kendricks was the son of George and Sophia Hargis Kendricks. He was married May 7, 1923, to Helen Pennefather. She died May 26, 1969. Surviving are three sons, Charles, Richard and Ronald, all of Crawfordsville; three, daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Olive) Brown and Mrs. Nancy Williams, both of Crawfordsville, and Mrs. David (Mary Jane) Timpany of Glasgow, Ky.; 19 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Kendricks was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Cooper, one grandchild and one great-grandchild. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Baker officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday. - jlr
