William R. Kelso, son of Thomas and Anna Kelso was born in Montgomery County on Oct 7, 1835 and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. RL Rusk in Waveland, May 27, 1918 at the age of 82 years, 7 months and 20 days. His boyhood days were spent on the farm of his father near Waveland. He was educated in the country district schools and in young manhood was married to Nancy McMains, March 4, 1857. They were the parents of 3 children: Viola, Mary and Robert. Viola died in her early girlhood. Mary and Robert survive to mourn their father and mother, respectively. He leaves 4 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mr. Kelso's life needs no comment for all who knew him. Funeral services at the home on Wednesday afternoon were in charge of Rev. JT Boyer. Interment at Maple Ridge Cemetery. - typed by kbz
