Kelsey - Ethel Ball Challey

MACE - Mrs. Ethel Kelsey, 85, formerly of Mace, died at 3:.20 a.m. Thursday in the Wallace Nursing Home at Terre Haute. She had been in failing health for over a year. While a resident of this area, she attended the Mace Methodist Church. Born on April 23, 1883, she was the daughter of Abel and Lidia Bullington Ball. She was first married to Clay Challey in 1904, and after his death to Earl Kelsey who survives. Her marriage to Mr. Kelsey was solemnized in 1941. Surviving besides the husband are two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Jones of Terre Haute and Mrs. LaMoyne Pierson of Caldwell, Tex.; two stepsons, Dwight of New Market and Earl Kelsey Jr. of Crawfordsville; two step-daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Chambers and Mrs. Maurice Watson, both of Crawfordsville, four grandchildren and several step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Powers Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Shelton in charge. Burial will be Mt. Moriah Cemetery near Bellmore.
