Linden - Emery E. Kelsey 72, died Sunday morning in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette after a short illness. He was born Jan 12, 1888 in Montgomery County a son of (James) Thomas and Margaret Kelsey. He was twice married. First on Dec 24, 1906 to Emma Reagan. She preceded him in death. Second was in August 1948 to Gertrude Warrick. Mr. Kelsey, a retired farmer and carpenter was a member of Linden Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge. He had lived here a number of years. Survivors include his wife, his mother, Mrs. Margaret Kelsey of Rockville; four sons, Ottis of Cover, Richard of Shannondale, Lawrence of near Crawfordsville and Clyde T. of New Richmond; two daughters, Mrs. Marie Arnold of Elwood and Mrs. Marguerite Geiger of New Richmond; two brothers, Roy of Crawfordsville and Stanley of near Crawfordsville and a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Hedrick of near Crawfordsville. Funeral rites will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home at Crawfordsville with Rev. Dennis Murphy in charge. Burial in Cox Cemetery near Thorntown. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Tuesday. - transcribed by kbz
