Kelsey, 82, of Wingate, died at 11:30 p.m. Thursday (June 6, 1968) at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Emmett (Marguerite) Byers, in Wingate. She had been ill since Mar 15. Born July 2, 1885, in Montgomery County, she was a daughter of George and Mary Douglas Burke. She was a life resident of Montgomery County and had resided the past 24 years in Wingate. She was married March 12, 1905, to William N. Kelsy, who survives. Mrs. Kelsey was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Church of Christ in Wingate. Surviving besides the husband and daughter are three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Hicks of New Market, Mrs. Bertha Woodard of Linnsburg, Ind., and Mrs. Alice Fletcher of Indianapolis' two brothers, Jerry Burke of Crawfordsville and George Burke of Indianapolis; one grandson and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown with the Rev. John R. Servies officiating. Burial will be in Indian Creek Cemetery near New Market. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Saturday.

Source - ???? - 9 June 1968 Waynetown - Funeral services for Mrs. Clara B. Kelsey were held Sunday at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown. Rev. John R. Servies officiated and Mrs. Mary Mullen was organist. She played several selections including specially requested hymns. "The Old Rugged Cross.," "In the Garden," and "Going Down the Valley." The pallbearers who also assisted with the flowers were C.I. Miller, Ora Elmore, Leonard Pittman, Larry Price, Jerry Verhey and John Powell. Burial was in Indiana Creek Cemetery near New Market.

Mrs. Kelsey, 82, suffered a stroke. She had been living withher daughter since March 15, when her health began to fail. The deceased, who had resided in the Wingate community for the last 24 years is survived by her husband, William N. Kelsey. They were married March 12, 1905. Mrs. Kelsey was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Church of Christ. A daughter of George and Mary Douglas Burk, she was born July 2, 1885. Surviving besides the husband and daughter are a grandson, James Hunter, and two great grandchildren, Bryan and Shawna Hunter, all of Crawfordsville; three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Hicks of New Market, Mrs. Bertha Woodard of Linnsburg and Mrs. Alice Fletcher of Indianapolis; two brothers, Jerry Burk of Crawfordsville and George Burk of Indianapolis and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William and John Burk, and three sisters, Martha Burk, Mrs. Cora Hicks and Mrs. Manda Ray. Services will be at 2;30 p.m. Sunday in the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. John R. Servies officiating. Burial will be in Indian Creek Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Saturday.
