John Taylor Keller was born May 26 1863, on a farm near Wallace, Indiana, departing this life on September 25 1944 at Veedersburg. He was the son of Margaret Parks Keller and Jacob Riley Keller. He had four brothers, Ulysses, Joseph, David and Samuel and one sister, Anna. All but the sister preceded him in death. He leaves six nephews and nieces, Lowell Keller, Della Roze, Pearl Tilton, Estel Pargo (Perigo) Floyd Keller and Marguerite Boatman. John Keller was engaged in farming in the neighborhod of his birth. However some years of his early manhood were spent in the Scott's Prairie neighborhood, where he was highly respected by all. His love for horses was always mentioned by his friends. He was never married. He moved to Veedersburg approximately eight years ago, establishing a home in the south part of town, where his garden was his pride and joy. This home was maintained up to the time of his death. He passed away at the home of Mrs. Vernon Keller, where he was making repairs on the property of Mrs. Keller.

John Keller, 78, carpenter and resident of Veedersburg for the past 15 years, died suddently Monday night in the home of Mrs. Beulah Keller, of Veedersburg. he had become ill a short time before while doing some carpentry for Mrs. Keller, who is no relation. The last of a family of six children, Mr. Keller was born on a farm in the vicinity of Veedersburg. He was the son of Jacob and Margaret Parks Keller. Before he became a carpenter, he was engaged in farming. Mr. Keller who was never married is survivied by a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held thursday afternoon at 1:340 o'clock at the Fishero Funeral home. Rev. Charles Howard officiated and interment was made in the Lutheran cemetery at Wallace.

John Keller, 78, died Monday night at the home of Mrs. Ralph Keller of Veeersburg, where he had been working during the day. He was stricken during the late afternoon and lived only a few hours. Born on a farm near Veedersburg Mr. Keller was the son of Jacob and Mary (sic) Parks Keller, pioneer Fountain County couple. He was the last of a family of six and had devoted the most of his life to farming. Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
