Darlington - Mrs. Margie G. Kell, 62, a resident of Darlington since 1922, died at 8 p.m. Wednesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. She had been in failing health for several months and had been a patient in the hospital since March 22. She lived at 102 Walnut St. in Crawfordsville shortly before entering the hospital. She was born Jan. 25, 1901 in the Potato Creek neighborhood in Montgomery County. Her parents were Edward O. and Pearl W. Summers Taylor. On May 1, 1920 she married William L. Kell in Crawfordsville. He preceded her in death in January 1961. He was a Darlington grocer. She was educated in Montgomery County schools and was a member of the Darlington Congregational Christian Church. She was an artist and painted still life. She also as a member of the Darlington Congregational Christian Church women’s organization, the Crawfordsville Business and Professional Women’s Association, the Indiana Federation of Art Clubs, Darlington OES Chapter 297, the Lafayette Hobby Club, the Indiana Roadside Council, the Darlington Home Demonsration Club and the Culver Hospital Guild. Survivors include her mother of Hillsboro; two daughters, Mrs. Don LaFollette of Crawfordsville, and Mrs. Herbert G. Cooper of Clarks Hil; four sisters, Mrs. Howard Morey of Chicago, Mrs. Adrian Cox of Darlington, Mrs. Burrell Rosenbaum of Waynetown and Mrs. Max Lowe of Hillsboro; two brothers, Archie Taylor of Putnamville and Woodrow Taylor of Indianapolis, and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in Crawfordsville at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Bright Funeral Home with Rev. Ernest Treber of Tippecanoe officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery at Darlington, Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday. - transcribed by kbz
