Keene - James 1896
Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Journal June 19, 1896
James Keene, aged thirty years, died of consumption Sunday afternoon at the home of his father, Upton Keene. He was recently brought here from New York state, where he was taken sick, and grew gradually worse until death came. The funeral services occurred Monday afternoon at the A.M.E. church. The deceased was peculiarly bright and popular man. He was graduated some years ago from the Frankfort schools and after wards traveled extensively over the country. His death was a sad one and ends what promised to be a useful life. – thanks to Kim H
