Veedersburg - John L. Keeling Jr., 63, of Veedersburg died at about 8 am Sunday at his residence, following an illness of about one year. Mr. Keeling was a retired carpenter and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars at Covington. He was born Aug. 1, 1916, in Fountain County, a son of John and Dora Payton Keeling. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Helen) Hoagland of Anderson; two sons, Arnold Keeling of Veedersburg and Dennis Keeling of Indianapolis; four brothers, Cash, Kenneth and Leslie Keeling, all of Veedersburg, and Robert Keeling of Waynetown; two sisters, Mrs. Freda Waneta Lynch of Danville, Ill., and Mrs. Maxine George of Veedersburg; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers. Services will be in Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg at 2 pm Wednesday with the Rev. Richard Throckmorton officiating. Burial will be in Bonebrake Cemetery near Veedersburg. Friends may call 6-9 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
