John H. Keeling passed away at the home of a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Esther Keeling in Veedersburg Indiana at 12:20 Friday morning June 19, 1953, following an illness of several years. Mr. Keeling was born in Veedesrburg April 8, 1877 and was the son of Sidney Shipman Keeling and Milton Keeling. He was married to Dora Payton who preceded him in death in 1936. He spent his entire life in Fountain County. After Mrs. Keeling passed away Mr. Keeling lived with his children but home was at Herschel & Esther's. Few children give their loved ones greater understanding and loving care than Esther gave Mr. Keeling. Mr. Keeling's suffering was great but when he wasn't suffering it was a pleasure to hear him relive a well lived life. Surviving are two daughters, Maxine George and Freda Lynch; six sons; Paul; Cash; Kenneth; Leslie, John and Robert; a sister, Mrs. Effie Warrick; and a brother William, 32 granchdildren and one great grandchild. Two sons preceded him in death, Arthur in infancy and Herschel died two years ago. - kbz
