Waynetown - Clifford Keeling, 83, a resident of Waynetown since 1946 died at 8 p.m. Wednesday in his home. Mr. Keeling had been a 40-year-employee of the Postal Service at Crawfordsville, serving 15 years as a parcel post carrier and 25 years as a city carrier. After he retired from the post office, he supervised the mailroom at RR Donnelley & Sons Co. He also worked 25 years as a civil service examiner.
Born near Wallace Dec 28, 1893 he was a son of Dexter and Emaline Reichard Keeling. He was educated in Crawfordsville schools. He was first married to Bessie Paire of Crawfordsville who preceded him in death. On Jan 13, 1945 he was married to Eva Barricklow Hodson, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons: Robert of Bettondorf, Iowa and Dr. Richard Keeling of Emporia, Kan; a daughter, Mrs. Caroline Drouin of Long Beach, Calif; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by 5 sisters, two brothers, two half sisters and a half brother.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with Rev. Stephen Malone officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday - kbz
