Eau Clarie, Dec 7 – Private funeral services for Morton Brainard Keegan, Sr, 89, retired South Bend, Ind physician and grandfather of John F. Schadt of Lynn Street, Eau Claire who died at 4:30 p.m. Friday were held this morning at 10 o’clock at the Orvis Funeral Home in South Bend with burial following in the Riverview cemetery there. Charles Hahn, reader for the First Church of Christ Scientist of South Bend officiated. The death of Dr. Keegan occurred in the home of his son, Morton B. Keegan, Jr, southwest of here. He had been in failing health the past 8 years. Born in Crawfordsville, Ind June 12, 1864, he took his medical training at Indiana University, Bloomington, Ind and at Rush Medical College, Chicago, Ill.  He transferred from Detroit to South Bend in 1906 where two years later he was married to Miss Clara Druliner who died there 25 years ago. Surviving besides the son and grandson are a daughter, Mrs. Charles W. Schadt of Dowagiac, whose husband is one of the owners of the Eau Claire Lumber Company here; three more grandchildren, Mrs. Patricia Volk of South Bend; C. Graham Schadt of Marshall, Mich and Miss Liana Keegan, Berrien Springs; two great grandchildren. – kbz
