Karshner - Rhoda Booher

Darlington, July 28 -- On last Friday morning, July 21, the sad message was received in this city that Rhoda KASHNER was dead after a long and useful life of 77 yeares. She passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alice Peyton at Los Angeles, after an illness of 10 weeks. She knew the end was near and repeated the Lord's prayer as she was passing away. Rhoda Booher Kashner, daughter of Gurdenius and Mahala Booher was born in Franklin Twp, Montgomery County, Indiana Sept 28, 1833 died July 21, 1910. She was married to George Kashner June 12, 1856. To this union were born 9 children of whom four, with their father, have been called home. The five living are: Mrs. Sarah Miller and Mrs. Orpha Tribbett of Darlington, Mrs. Alice Peyton and Mrs. Bird Thompson of Los Angeles, Calfironia and Mr. CD Kashner of Lafayette with 11 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, six brother and two sisters and a host of friends are left to mourn the loss of a dear loving mother, grandmother, ! sister and friends. She was baptized in the Lutheran Church in infancy but changed to the Presbyterian church in Darlington 37 years ago ... (rest of obit was too black to read - sorry - kbz)
