Mrs. Hazel Karnes of Kingman, age 79, died in Colonial Crest Nursing Home at Indianapolis, Wednesday morning, June 23. She was born August 16, 1898, the daughter of James and Lilly Thomas Harper and was married to Chapman Karnes, who died in 1972. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mary Kathryn Myers of Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Masters of Terre Haute; a brother, Thomas Harper of Washington; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Woodrow Funeral Home in Kingman with Rev. George Souza officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery at Montezuma. --waw
