Eugene E. Kantz, 76, of 900 S. Washington St. died at 3:51 a.m. Sunday in Culver Hospital. Mr. Kantz was a retired plant engineer from Commercial Solvents at Terre Haute. He was a former president of the Indiana State Bowling Association and the National Association of Power Engineers. He was a member of the Maple Avenue United Methodist Church at Terre Haute and attended First United Methodist Church here. He was a 32° Mason of the Euclid Masonic Lodge 573 at Terre Haute. Born July 27, 1904, at Lafayette, he was a son of Lewis and Bessie Jackson Kantz. He was married in 1926 to Mary Elizabeth Hodson, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Robert Kantz of Crawfordsville; a brother, Lewis Kantz of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Eckles of Muskegon, Mich., and Mrs. Dorothy Evans of Medaryville; three grandchildren, Susan Funke, and Brad and Kyle Kantz, all of Crawfordsville; and three great-grandchildren, Christen and Melissa Kantz, and Damian Funke, all of Crawfordsville. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Hodson. Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Powers Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Miller and Rev. Keith Carlile officiating. Burial will be in the new Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Monday with Masonic services at 8 p.m. smc
