Crawfordsville, Nov 7 – Arthur W. Kane, son of the late Dr. William Patterson Kane, president of Wabash College at the turn of the century, died today at Culver Hospital where he had been a patient one day. An internal hemorrhage caused death. Mr. Kane, a graduate of Wabash with the class of 1905, had lived in or near Chicago since the death in Sept 1944 of his son, Lt. William P. Kane, who was killed in an airplane crash in Kansas on the eve of his departure for overseas service as a flight officer. Last spring the family moved from Western Springs, Ill where it had lived 22 years to Crawfordsville. Another son, Robert died 20 years ago. Mr. Kane was a member of the Delta Tau Fraternity at Wabash. He is survived by his widow, the former Miss Mary Ristine, of this city, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Warren Ristine and a daughter, Miss Jeanette Kane, a junior in Indiana University. Funeral services will be held at Utterback & Bright funeral home here at 2 p.m. Friday with burial in the family lot in Oak Hill Cemetery. Dr. RH Rieman, pastor of the Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church will be in charge.
