KAGELS, Mamie Christenson - Montgomery InGenWeb Project

Mamie E. Kagels of Danville, Illinois, age 82, died January 19 in Lakeview Medical Center at Danville. She was born in Danville, February 19, 1900, the daughter of Peter Nelson and Ida Olson Christenson. April 28, 1918, she married Lawrence Frederick Kagels, who died May 22, 1977. Mrs. Kagels was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and was formerly employed by the Grape Creek School as a cook.

   Survivors include a daughter, Irene Spicer of Danville; five sons, Robert L. of Danville, Lawrence F. Jr. of Los Alamitos, California, Donald L. of East Peoria, Illinois, Clifford C. of Covington and Gerald Dean of Westville, Illinois; a sister, Thelma Woodard of Danville; three brothers, Chris C. Christenson of Oakwood, Illinois, Harlan Peter and Robert Gene Christenson, both of Danville; 20 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Pape Memorial Home in Danville with Rev. Wayne Pleasants officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park at Danville. – thanks to S
