COVINGTON – John Thurman Julian, 91, of 609 Second St., died at 9:40 a.m. Friday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient four days. He had lived here 38 years, moving to Covington from Cayuga. Mr. Julian was the last of a family of four children. He was born Nov. 23, 1877 in Vermillion County (Ind.) to Levi and Elizabeth Ballard Julian. His marriage to Lillian Whyde was in 1903. She died July 18, 1938. On Aug. 17, 1951 he was wed to Cordie Davis, who survives. Also surviving are 10 children, Vernon Julian of Danville, Ill., Mrs. Nina Jackson and Dale Julian of Hartford City, Mrs. Ruby Crawford and John T. Julian Jr. of Williamsport, Mrs. Pauline Smith and Mrs. Bernice Wemken o£ Vallejo, Calif., Mrs. Madeline Abernathy and Mrs. Mable Crowder of Rt. 2, Veedersburg, and Mickey Julian of Alamagordo, N.M. There are 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral rites are at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home, where friends may call after 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday afternoon and evening. Rev. Alfred Dobbs will officiate, with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery. – jlr
