Jones - Sylvia Miller - Montgomery InGenWeb Project

Wingate - Mrs. Sylvia M. Jones, 68, of near Wingate, died Wednesday morning in Home Hospital at Lafayette. She had been ill for several months and had been in the hospital since Monday. She was born June 23, 1901, to Charles L. and Margaret Ann Wilson Miller. She married Carl W. Jones on Jan 30, 1939. He died in October, 1968. She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Church of Christ, Order of Eastern Star Chapter 336, American Legion Auxiliary and Home Extension Club all of Wingate. She was educated in Fountain County schools. Surviving are two sons, Dale L. Jones and Dallas W. Jones of Wingate; a brother, Homer Miller of Williamsport ; an aunt and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Fletcher and Bert Miller. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Servies-Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown by Rev. Robert Karn, assisted by Rev. Jean McCan. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Wingate. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Thursday. - kbz
