Jones - Elvessie

Miss Vessie Jones died Monday morning at the Westbrook Nursing Home where she had been a patient since last August. She was born at Hillsboro. Her parents were George Albert Jones, and her mother was Mary Elizabeth Ellis Jones. Her mother died when she was three. She and her father moved to Crawfordsville when the Donnelley plant first came here. Her father worked for the firm 18 years until his death. Miss Jones attended Hillsboro High School and was a member of the First Christian Church here. Survivors include four cousins, Virgil Ellis of Ladoga, Chancie Ellis of Waynetown, Mrs. Vonia Hudson of Florida and Mrs. Bertha Lyon of California. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Bright Funeral Home. Rev. Howard F. Miller will be in charge. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Tuesday.
