Mrs. Della M. Jones, 72 years old, died Wednesday evening at 9:30 o'clock (CDT) at her residence in Elmdale. She had been ill since November 1947, and serious since last Friday. Born in New Richmond on June 11, 1878, she was the daughter of John and Margaret Kirkpatrick. On Nov. 12, 1903 she married Henry S. Jones, who survives. She had lived in Elmdale since 1925, and was a member of the M.E. church there. Survivors in addition to the husband, include a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Mahoney, Lafayette; three sons, Paul V. Jones, near Mellott, Clyde C. Jones, Lafayette and Capt. William H. Jones, Maxwell Air Base, Montgomery, Ala., a sister Mrs. Anna Litka, New Richmond; a brother, Quinn Kirkpatrick, near Elmdale; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Mrs. Mamie fuller; three brothers and two sisters. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Friends may pay their respects at the Proffitt and Sons funeral home.

Source - ???? May 1951 Funeral services for Della M. Jones were held at the Elmdale Methodist Church Saturday afternoon, with burial at New Richmond. Rev. Arthur Schenck and the Rev. Horace McBride were the officiating ministers. Assisting as pallbearers were William Cheek, Walter Fitzwater, Alvin Metzker, Sidney Langworthy, Tilson King and Avery Merrell. Those who helped with the flowers were Mrs. William Cheek, Mrs. Walter Fitzwater, Mrs. Alvin Langworthy, Mrs. Edward Bonebrake, Mrs. Avery Merrell, Mrs. Don Cope, Mrs. Jean Fuller, Mrs. Robert Bunnell, Mrs. Raleigh Hays, Mrs. Bert Fuller, Mrs. Lloyd Eads, Mrs. Gladys Jarvis, Mrs. Ivan Shobe, Mrs. Arthur Schenck, Mrs. Donald Merrell and Mrs. Robert Cunningham. Mrs. Jones died Wednesday night at her home in Elmdale.

Source - ???? = May 1951 Funeral services for Mrs. Della Jones will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Elmdale church with Rev. Schenck in charge. Burial will be in the New Richmond cemetery. Friends may call at the Proffitt and Sons funeral home until 11 a.m. Saturday, when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until the funeral. Mrs. Jones, 72, died at her home in Elmdale Wednesday night.
