Kingman, Ind - Services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home in Crawfordsville for Clark D. Jones, 83 of Crawfordsville, a former resident of Kingman. He died at 6 a.m. Wednesday at his home. Mr. Jones served as mayor of Crawfordsville from 1948 to 1952 and as clerk-treasurer of Montgomery County for 13 years. He and his brother, Frank R. operated a clothing store on S. Washington Street for many years. Born July 17, 1890, near Kingman, he was the son of Henry S. and Nancy Sweeney Jones. He was married Oct 10, 1915 to Flossie Fine who survives. Mr. Jones graduated from Kingman HS in 1910 and was associated in a clothing business in Kingman for several years. He was on the executive committee of the Ben Hur Life Association from 1946-1960. He was a member of the Ben Hur Simonides Court 1 of Crawfordsville since 1908 and served as chief of the state association at one time. He was 50-year member and past master of Masonic Lodge 50 and a 50-year member and past patron of Athen Order of Eastern Star Chapter 97. He was a member of the First United Methoidst Church. Other survivors include a sister in law, Mrs. Audrey Jones of Crawfordsville. The Rev. Frank Little officiated. Burial was in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. --kbz

Crawfordsville – Clark D. Jones, 83, a former mayor of Crawfordsville died yesterday at his home. A Republican he was mayor form 1948-52. Mr. Jones also was city clerk-treasurer for 13 years. He and his brother, the late Frank R. Jones operated a clothing store here for many years. Mr. Jones was a past master of the Masonic Lodge and past patron of the Order of Eastern Star. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Flossie Jones. – kbz
