Carl N. Jones, 81, Waveland, died 12:57 a.m. Tuesday in Ben Hur Nursing Home. Mr. Jones was a retired self-employed carpenter and contractor. He served in the Army as part of the 249th Combat Engineers in WWII. His memberships included Browns Valley Missionary Baptist Church, Waveland American Legion Post 323 and VFW. He was born Sept 30, 1924, at Covington to William A. and Mattie Eaton Jones. He attended Wallace schools. On Jan 26, 1946, he married Clela I. Bannon at Crawfordsville. She survives.   Also surviving are two sons, Clyde (Carolyn) Jones, Crawfordsville, Dennis Jones, Waveland; two daughter, Sheila (Greg) Sorrels, Kelly (John) Steelsmith, both of Waveland; two brothers, Clyde F. (Rita) Jones, Carroll L (Linda) Jones, both of Crawfordsville, two sisters, Iris (Don) Hudson, Jamestown; Veda (Bill) Satterfield, Crawfordsville 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Richard Lee Jones.  Funeral services are scheduled 10:30 a.m. Friday in Machledt & Servies Funeral Home, Waveland with Rev. Ken Green officiating. Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery with American Legion and VFW services. Friends may visit 4-8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
