New Richmond – William T. Jones, 81, died at the family home here Sunday noon after undergoing an operation recently in a Lafayette hospital. He was born in NC June 9, 1843 (sic – think 1848 since age 81) and was married in 1868 to Mary J. Smith; they came here in 1892. He was a member of the ME Church and Masonic Lodge here. Surviving are the widow: four children, Mayme Jones, Indianapolis, Otto of near here, Henry of near Elmdale and Phillip, Crawfordsville with one sister. The funeral will be held at the home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock with the Rev. OR Mason in charge; interment in New Richmond Cemetery. - kbz
