Lafayette, Ind, Jan 27 – Edgar T. Jones, age 72, for many years a grain and stock broker in this city and member of the Chicago Board of Trade died yesterday. He had been in failing health for several years. Mr. Jones was born in this county, a son of Dr. Stephen A. Jones, a pioneer physician. He attended the Lafayette schools and later was graduated from Wabash College. For more than 15 years Mr. Jones was the local correspondent of Lamson Bros, a Chicago Grain establishment. In 1912 he retired. His first wife died in 1885 and his second in 1904. Two children survive: E. Francis Jones an Indianapolis newspaperman and Mrs. Harry Allen of Kansas City, Mo. Funeral services were held today. Burial was in Springvale cemetery (1st wife, May Frances “Fanny” Sloan from Crawfordsville, daughter of Dr. John Jay Sloan).
