Collet Jones, 68, an instructor in the general engineering department at Purdue University died unexpectedly Saturday morning at 5:30 at the family residence, 2911 South Street. Born near Crawfordsville, he married Gertrude Rakestraw in 1901. He lived in Linden for a number of years, coming to Lafayette in 1917 and for 22 years was connected with Purdue University. He was a member of the Christian Church at Linden and Lafayette Lodge, No 492, F&AM. Besides his widow, he leaves a son, Lt. Harold Max Jones, AAF, now in England, also two brothers, Jode Jones, Linden and David Jones, Kinderbrook, Ill and a sister, Mrs. Norman Nation, Englewood, Calif. Body at Rogers and Henderson Funeral Home after noon Sunday. Services, there, Monday at 3 p.m.
