John W. Johnson, aged 59 years died yesterday at his home near Linden after a long and painful illness. The deceased leaves a wife and several children to mourn his loss. He was in all things a worthy and patriotic citizen and served through the war as a member of Co B, 140th Ind Regiment. The funeral will occur tomorrow from the Christian Christian at Linden of which he was a consistent member. - kbz

The funeral of the late J. W. Johnson at Linden yesterday was largely attended, 106 buggies being in line. A firing squad from Company I did service at the cemetery
