James Johnson, of the firm of Potts & Johnson, butchers, died in this city, from consumption on Sunday, April 15th, aged 45 years. The deceased was one of Montgomery County's first born; and was numbered among one of our best citizens. His remains were followed to the tomb on the afternoon of Monday by the brethren of Masonic Fraternity of which order he was an honored member, with a host of sorrowing relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at St. John's Episcopal Church, Rev. Mr. Lemon officiating. - typed by kbz
