WAVELAND – Mrs. Gladys Lorie Johnson, 75, of Kansas City, Kan., died Wednesday night at Culver Hospital where she had been a patient since Monday. Mrs. Johnson had been visiting a relative, Mrs. Geneva Weaver, in Waveland. Mrs. Johnson, originally from the Kingman area, had attended a family reunion at Turkey Run State Park Sunday. She was born Nov. 9, 1895, the daughter of the late Alvah E. and Louella Dix Tunin of Kingman. She married Louis E. Johnson May 15, 1917 in Baldwin City Kansas. He preceded her in death. A retired school teacher, she was a member of the Roanoake Methodist Church in Kansas City, Mo. Mrs. Johnson is survived by three sons, Edmond of East Point, Ga., Merlin E. of Kansas City, Kan., and Harlan A. of New Orleans, La; one daughter, Mrs. Shirley Davidson of Midwest City, Okla., eight grandchildren and two great-grand-children. The body, which was at Machledt & Service Funeral Home in Waveland, will be returned to the Gates Funeral Home in Kansas City, Kan., where services are pending. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery at Kansas City, Mo. – jlr
