Mrs. Cordelia JOHNSON age 84 years 9 months 8 days departed this life at her home on May 21, 1957. She was the 4th child of Francis Marion and Martha Ann GRIMES CLODFELTER. Except for one year in Illinois she was always a resident of this community. In 1889 she accepted Jesus as her Master in the Hebron Christian Church and has always remained true to her faith. On Jan 25, 1893 she was unite din marriage to George Elmer Johnson who preceded her in death in 1936. To this union were born 4 children: an infant son buried in the bishop Hill Cemetery near Galva, Illinois; a daughter, Mrs. Bertha Blanche Griffin of Danville and two sons, Clateon and Cyril, with whom she lived. Besides these children she leaves to miss her - two sisters, Mrs. Tilla Ballard of Waynetown and Mrs. Ona Harbison of Russellville, a daughter-in-law, Mary Jo, a son-in-law, Homer Griffin and other relatives and friends. Four brothers, Ed, an infant, Franklin and Jess, and a sister, Olivia Harbison preceded her into Eternity. The family moved to the present place in March 1903, where Corrie as she was known by relatives and friends was a quiet and home loving mother. She always placed her children's welfare as she aw it, above her own. Ever since 1940 she has been unable to perform many of the chores she loved to do. On Feb 4, 1951 she suffered a second stroke and last month she began to prepare to leave us. Poem -- Funeral services were held for Mrs. Cordelia Johnson at 2 Thursday at the family residence. Rev. Ralph D. Spencer of Martinsville was in charge. The pall bearers were five nephews: Alvan Clodfelter, Otis Clodfelter, Dalton Harbison, Ivan Harbison and Ancil Ballard and a cousin, John A. Harbison. Burial was in Hebron Cemetery.
