Hillsboro, Ind. (CNS) - Mrs. Johnye Ramsey Johns, 73, of Hillsboro, died at 1:05 a.m. Sunday (Aug 23, 1970) at the Carmen Nursing Home in Crawfordsville. She had been ill several years. Born July 1, 1897, in southern Illinois, she was the daughter of John and Sarah Willmore Ramsey. She was married Aug 17, 1917, at Veedersburg to Oscar C. Johns, who died in August 1958. She was a member of the Hillsboro Christian Church and attended the Boggs School near Hillsboro. She and her husband had operated a restaurant in Hillsboro for 26 years. Survivors include three half-sisters, Mrs. May Allen, Mrs. Ellen Morehouse and Miss Ruth Beaver, all of Veedersburg; three step-brothers , Joe Bever of St. Charles, Mo., Harvey Bever of Danville, Ill., and Charles Bever of Strington; and a niece they reared in their home, Mrs. Wanda York Ludlow of Lawrence. She also was preceded in death by two sisters, a brother and another niece they raised in their home, Mrs. Fern Marie York Eitner. Services will be at 3 p.m. EDT Tuesday at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dorman Winger officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today.
