Jesse O. Jones, 76, 400 W. Main St., died Thursday in Culver Hospital of a cerebral hemorrhage. He had been ill for six days prior to this death. Mr. Jones was a long-time resident of the city and was a member of the Crawfordsville First Baptist Church. Born Feb. 13, 1888, in Boone County, Mr. Jones was the son of James B. and Candece Canalda Jones. In 1920, he married Bertha Watson. He was a veteran of World War I and farmed in Boone County before moving to Crawfordsville. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by two brothers, Edgar and Manson, and by two sisters, Hattie Jones and Mrs. Sally Morrison. Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Minnie Tinsley, Mrs. Garnet McAlister, Mrs. Brownie Lewellen and Mrs. Bessie Wonnell, all of Crawfordville, and two brothers Frank B. Jones of Lafayette and William B. Jones of Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Rev. Paul Hubble of Pleasant View Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Jamestown IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Friday.
