Theodore N. JOHNSON, passed away Sunday, Oc 4 at 10:13 p.m. at Culver Hospital where he was taken early Saturday evening following a stroke he suffered shortly after having spent the afternoon watching a ball game of the World Series on t.v. in company with his cousin, Mr. Sweitzer and his son, Franklyn. Mr. Johnson, "Ted" as he was affectionately called was born Sept 2, 1882 in Waveland the son of Fountain North Johnson and Virginia Brown Johnson; he was one of 4 children, all of whom have preceded him in death. Mr. Johnson attended school at Waveland and graduated from the Indianapolis Business College. For a number of years following he acted as cashier of the local bank. Then, he was associated with his brother in business in Crawfordsville. However, he returned to Waveland some 15 years ago and had been with the bank ever since, serving as its president for the last several years. He became a member of the Waveland Christian Church in 1891 and has served his church faithfully. As a young man, Mr. Johnson became a member of the Waveland Masonic Lodge and acted in the capacity of treasurer for a number of years. Mr. Johnson and Bettie TITUS were united in marriage Oct 5, 1905 in Sacramento, California and to this union three children were given: Franklin T. and Richard F, both of Waveland and one daughter, Mrs. Gordon B. Robison of Michigan City. They, with their mother and 8 grandchildren remain to bear the loss of his sudden going. The funeral was conducted on Wednesday afternoon at 2 from the Waveland Christian Church, pastor Rev. Grover C. DeNeal officiating. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Crawfordsville. - typed by kbz
