On Saturday, Ambrose Johnson, a well-known citizen of this county, committed suicide at his home in Scott Twp. Mr. J. was about 45 and was a son-in-law of William White, on whose farm he resided with his wife and four children. He had been in poor health for some time and had also had financial troubles. He became despondent but it was not thought that he contemplated self destruction. On Sat, however, he deliberately secured a rope and hanged himself. His family found his dead body some time later. The deplorable affair has caused great regret in the neighborhood and it is thought that Mr. J. was mentally unbalanced. -s
