Westport – Frank Eldo Jessup, 77, a former Westport town marshal died Monday at his home here after an illness of several months. Born in Decatur County Jan 25, 1892, he was the son of Col. AL and Flora Belle Tucker Jessup.  He married the former Myrtle Patrick May 13, 1914 at Crawfordsville. She survives. Mr. Jessup was employed from 1914-1924 as a conductor on the interurban line of the Indianapolis Transit company.  He lived in Anderson from 1924-1947 where he was employed at the Anaconda Wire company. He returned to Westport in 1947 where he and his wife owned and operated the Jessup Nursing home from 1954-1962. He was town marshall from 1958-1964.  Mr. Jessup was a member of the Westport Wesleyan church and Westport Kiwanis club. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. M,argaret VanBriggle of Greensburg; a granddaughter, Mrs. Nancy Shook of Kokomo; four great grandchildren; three brothers, Neal, Allen and Creath Jessup all of Westport; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Voiles, Mrs. Nell Gardener and Mrs. Jessie Judge all of Westport. He was preceded in death by two sons, an infant and Fred Ivan who was lost at sea during the second world war. An infant sister also preceded him in death.
