Mrs. Hannah Jay passed away at her home in this city at 6 o’clock Saturday morning Jan 14.  Hannah Palmer was born in Montgomery County, Indiana Jan 25, 1839 and died at her home in Humboldt, Jan 14, 1922 aged 82 years 11 months 18 days. She was married to Elisha Jay oct 17, 1861. Four children came to bless this home: Lew Wallace, now deceased; John of Turlock, Cal; Albert of Joplin, Mo and William B of Humbolt.  Four grandchildren and two great grandchildren also remain to mourn her loss.  Since the death of her husband in 1913 she has waited patiently for her Savior to call her home.  At the age of 17 years she united with the Methodist Church and gave her heart to God. She loved her Bible and her church and died in the faith that saves. Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord. The funeral service was held at the Methodist Church at 2:30 Sunday afternoon conducted by her pastor, Rev EE Satterlee and the remains were laid to rest in the Maple Grove cemetery beside her husband and son who preceded her.
