Martha Ellen JARVIS, an aged resident of Waveland community, died at her home, 5 miles West of here Thanksgiving night of infirmities of age. She was born near here July 11, 1851 the daughter of Isiah and Ann SUTTON early settlers in this community. To this union 12 children were born six of whom survive: Howard A and Mary of Indianapolis; Mrs. Anna WATTS of Danville; Ben of Rockville; Mrs. Laura KENNEDY of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Valley DELAY of Indianapolis. - kbz

Martha Ellen JARVIS born July 11, 1854 (sic) a pioneer and life long resident of Waveland community, died Nov 22, 1945, Thanksgiving night at her home 3 miles west of Waveland after an extended illness of seven weeks. Mrs. Jarvis was the daughter of Isaiah and Anna McCAMMON SUTTON and the last of her family who were early residents of this community. Mrs. Jarvis was married to Scott W. JARVIS a Civil War Veteran of Rockville March 6, 1873. She was a member of the Waveland Christian Church and in her early years an active worker in the church. They were the parents of 12 children, six of whom have preceded their mother in death. Her husband died March 6, 1931, the children who died were: Lorenzo, an infant daughter, Mrs. Minnie JACKS, Jess Jarvis; Henry Jarvis and Fded (sic - Fred?) Jarvis. Two sons and four daughters survive: Howard A; Indianapolis; Ben, Rockville; May Jarvis and Mrs. Valley DELAY of Indianapolis; Mrs. Anna WATTS, Danville, Ill and Laura KENNEDY, Crawfordsville.
