Funeral services for Jacob M. JARVIS, lifelong resident of Mace, who died at Culver Hospital Thursday evening will be held at the Mace ME Church at 1 Sunday afternoon and will be in charge of Rev JH Gardner. The body will lay in state in the Church from 12 o´clock until the hour of the services. Interment will take place in the Mace Knights of Pythias. Cemetery. - transcribed by kbz

Jacob M. JARVIS, the son of William and Elizabeth Jarvis was born June 19, 1868 near Mace and departed this life May 26, 1932 at Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville age 62 year 11 months 7 days after an illness of several months duration. When a very small child, he with his parents moved to VA and on Dec 21, 1893, he was married to Minnie B. Carroll. They later moved to this vicinity where they have since resided. Besides the widow, those surviving are four daughters, Mrs. John Shanks of Linnsburg, Mrs. Roy Weir of Kokomo, Mrs. Lloyd Nola Ploughe of Indianapolis; two sons, Gaines and Carroll both of Indianapolis 14 grandchildren, one brother, James of New Ross, two half brothers, DJ of New Ross and Newt of Mace, and one half sister, Mrs. George Evans of Linnsburg; one step brother, Frank Shewey of New Ross. His parents one sister, Mrs. Mattie Walker of Va his step mother, Mrs. Victoria Jarvis, step brother Harry Shewey and one grandson, Devon Jarvis preceded him in death. Jake as he was familiarly known was noted for his honesty and integrity and most of all for his devotion to his family. He was a friend to everyone, especially to children-a good neighbor, husband and father and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He was a member of the Old Union Presbyterian Church and of Modern Woodmen. - transcribed by kbz
